Meditation is a state of calmness and peacefulness that many people hope to achieve but not many do.  Part of the reason is that we are so busy in our lives that we do not know really how to meditate.  With these simple meditation techniques you can learn how to reach your state of peace.

Part 1: Easy Meditation Techniques

First in order to really master the easy meditation techniques, you will need to find a quiet place to practice your meditation.  It can be a bedroom, a patio, or even your bathroom.  Basically the idea behind the first part of the meditation techniques is to find a place where you can sit quietly without worldly distractions.

Part 2: Easy Meditation Techniques

Clothing is the second part of the easy meditation techniques that will benefit you in reaching your peace of mind.  As you are sitting in your quiet place, you should be very comfortable in your clothing.  You should be wearing clothing that is loose, comfortable, and that you skin can breathe in.  You do not want to find your mind wandering on how uncomfortable you are, but rather you want to lead your mind to a state of complete stillness and peace.

Part 3: Easy Meditation Techniques

Now that you are in comfortable clothing and in a quiet still place, lie down and close your eyes and focus on your breathing.  Focus on how your stomach rises and falls with each breath.  Focus on breathing in through your nose and out through your mouth.  As you are taking time to focus on your breath, allow your body to slowly shut down.  Relax your arms and legs, shoulders, fingers and toes completely so that they even feel heavy, as you are focus on your breathing.  Do not think about anything but your breath and how your breath can bring you peace.

Part 4: Easy Meditation Techniques

After focusing on your breath for about 10 – 15 minutes slowly open your eyes and focus on your body.  Become aware of how heavy your arms and legs are, how relaxed your shoulders are, and how still you are.  Slowly begin by wiggling your toes and your fingers.  Next move your energy up through your arms and legs, and eventually up through your spine and to the top of your head.  Once you have awakened your body you may slowly sit up.  Allow your body to sit up one vertebra at a time.

This is the most basic component of meditation techniques. Try this type of meditation technique once a day and see how much more calming and healthy your body feels after a month or so.  Once you have mastered this form of meditation you will be ready to move on to more advanced meditation techniques and an even more calming state of mind.
