Guided Meditation
Meditation is without a doubt, one of the most effective ways to help one attain inner calm and piece of mind. Due to the hectic, stressful pace of modern life, meditation has become increasingly popular as more people begin to realize its benefits. Of the many different types of meditation, guided meditation is quite popular and practiced by millions of people each day.
Guided meditation is a type of meditation where the particpant is guided through each step of the meditation process. From the initial step of sitting in the meditative position to the final step of completing the meditation process, your meditation instructor will guide you. Your meditation instructor will provide you with step by step instructions on what exactly you need to while you are meditating.
The practice of guided meditation is an ancient means of imparting proper meditation instructions to willing students. This instruction would typically take place in a group setting with more than one student. This is still quite common, but more than ever, the physical presence of an instructor is no longer necessary to guide the meditation process. Thanks to instructional CD’s and DVD’s, one can listen or watch a meditation instructor perform and walk them through the meditation process. This also allows for people to enjoy the benefits of meditation in the convenience of their own home.
Guided meditation instructional guides are found in a number of different types of meditation depending on the techniques of the particular instructor. Several of the more popular types of mediation used in guided meditation instructional guides include Vipassana meditation, transcendental meditation, Buddhist meditation, and mantra meditation. The most effective way of using guided meditation is to repeatedly listen to or watch your meditation instructor so that you do not need to think about following their every move.
Guided meditation can be extremely effective and helpful, especially for those who are just learning to meditate. With an experienced guide walking you through the process, it is much more likely to achieve positive results in the shortest amount of time. If you happen to fall asleep during the meditation, your subconscious mind will still be receptive and you will continue to benefit. If you are wanting to meditate, I highly recommend starting out with guided meditation to understand the life-transforming effects it can have on one’s life.
